Kilim Vs. Navajo

Finally  after several years with  small touches of Kilim  / Navajo in coats or handbags. This year's trend  this pattern! Personally it ´s a fabric I love! Especially their geometric and color mixing, but I don´t know distinguish between one or the other ... and  many of the brands neither,  so they call it ethnic.

Kilim is a Turkish word which means both sides.
It is a carpet that can be used on both sides, because in its production are links between chapters, such as embroidery.

Today the kilim rug is woven by nomadic people in various Eastern countries, where the main ones are: Turkey, Iran, Russia, China, Pakistan, Morocco and India.

Navajo rugs and blankets are prized by collectors all over the world for their beauty and durability.  They are truly among the great icons of Southwest Native Arts.

For many Navajo women, weaving is not only a source of livelihood, it is a way to participate in traditional Navajo culture and community.  The art of weaving is deeply felt expression of beauty, harmony, and balance: concepts that lie at the center of Navajo art and life.

Francesco Scognamiglio

Francesco Scognamiglio is with Dries Van Noten and Giambattista Balli one of the designers who tops my list of favorites. And I wanted to refer to him in the blog because he´s the most unknown of all, but his fame is rising through the roof.

The Naples-born, Milan-based young designer delivers the goods; dresses which perform well, are striking, and designed to catch the eye,but within all this extravagance is enclosed lot of feminine elegance.

Lady Gaga, Madonna and Rihanna call on Francesco Scognamiglio when they want something special for a video, a gig or a red carpet appearance.

LOVE OR RELY.....????

The other day  a friend of mine told me  she had read a book called Love or rely ... As the title makes us understand the book talks about relationships  and how most of the time we create a dependency on our partner / friend, that makes us think that  we cant live with out him/her. .. And this makes many relationships untenable, unbearable and damaging remain and move forward going nowhere ... causing more pain to the partner.

This is the thought that I have every time I see these three movies ...
There is a love so pure?
Why love is so harmful?
Madness is the next step after love?
Why we love blind us from seeing it's over????

The Process

Now in the fashion world is on vogue to show us the profuccion processes of some of their product, especially glasses ...
I believe that with this they mean >> Come on! they come from  a long process, so they are so expensive! Pay for them with out feeling bad
But this is real? I must believe that all people involved in the production have an average age of 30 years, they are goodlooking,  with perfect hands (clean with manicure) and dressing mega white coats ...

Buy a pair Give a pair

Lately I'm finding some brands Buy a pair Give a pair.
This means that for every pair you buy, the pair will be donated to people in need.
Some of them are Toms and Parker Warby.

Toms is a brand of shoes that now is very fashionable in USA, the shoes are super comfortable and there is a great variety of patterns and colors. I ´ve to confess that when I was in California I couldn´t resist and bought a pair...

Some celebrities  wearing Toms;

And Parker Warby is a brand of glasses. I have to admit I've fallen in love ... because are glasses with a very young character with a retro touch, but not too eccentric (well excepting the collection of monoscles).

But surely the best thing for me is the colaboration W. Parker with Suno, mixing sunglasses and Kenya fabrics. AMAZING!

¿.......?

The other day I saw the new  Lady Gaga´s video... and the truth is that when it finish ... I kept thinking there is no understanding relation between any of the parties ... but I loved the styling and photography (which always happens to me with the videos of this woman).
But today I read something on Twitter that has made me open my eyes "ladygaga's music video looks like american editorials for Vogue''
and I don´t know if Gaga has done with that intention (I have to investigate) but that's the only translation I find for this video ...

Indians

The truth is that I've always liked the Indians, their clothes their feathers, braids, leather ... and beliefs

But lately this feeling is more dormant than ever, because I'm newcomer from Indian lands, USA. There apart from see a few of them, I have seen many indian shops and beach shops that sell native jewelry with feathers many feather... All this resulted in a trend of outstanding street: feather earrings  and feather on the hair
